Atlantic City!

Hope you all had a wonderful Holiday Weekend! Over the break I watch Wild Hearts Can't be Broken. I remember loving the movie when I was a kid. But now that I'm older, I find that I really like Sonora's, Gabrielle Anwar, wardrobe. I love her henley's/tanks/ blouses paired with high waisted riding pants, for the time a masculine look, but there is something really feminine about the color combinations and accessories they use on her. I like it to the point that I've been looking up riding trouser etsy, and am considering buying a pair! Has a movie heroine ever inspired you to go out and purchase a particular look?

Outphoto: Take 1

This week I plan on styling outfits based off photos found on the interweb. I'm calling it my Outphoto project.

I came across this lovely photo by a young Brit named Tom Cops. Please, please, please check out his site. Not only is he a brillant photographer, but a fellow collage artist as well. I am very much in love with his portraits of Musicians and his sketchbook "How to Grow".
Enjoy!

Haze

Today is a little hazy. Not sure why. Maybe it's the increasing cold. The sun being blocked out. The clouds looking like they will burst with snow at any moment. I can't wait. For the cold quietness that comes when winter is finally here.

I've been pretty inspired by photos lately. My friend Whitney sent me this and my mind exploded. How great is that?!?!? So next week I will attempt to do the same thing. We'll see how that turns out. Have a wonderful weekend!

TOPSHOP

So I've been meaning to check out the new TopShop since it opened down town a couple months ago. I randomly stopped by yesterday and to my surprise they were doing an event with Olivia Palermo on Holiday Styling.

 Yum!

Here's Olivia (in between those 2 girls heads)! She is very tiny in real life. She gave a short presentation on some of the looks she put together. Pretty standard I suppose, but she was super nervous( in a cute way).
I do love some of their pieces, and its always frustrating when the price tag doesn't meet what you can afford. I am in search of a holiday dress for a Christmas party and New Years so here are 2 that I found, but are unfortunately way out of my price range.

 Love the open back!

I'm really into this red, and the bead work is so classic!

Besides the presentation, free food, and drinks there were make up artists and hair stylists to give you tips for you holiday look and show you how to achieve them.

Ok so this makes me angry. Here is a lovely shirt priced at (now I can't remember exactly) $60-$70. You can get almost the exact same shirt at Forever 21 for $17. WHYYYY? Don't they understand if they lowered their prices they'd sell out of everything?!? I'm just saying.

ModlyChic's Schoolhouse Swap

This past Friday was the ModlyChic's Schoolhouse Swap. I've never been to a clothing swap before and I have to admit I was rather scared. I'm super picky about what I wear and how things fit.  I've been wanting to do a swap with friends for a while- it always seems to be the best way to get rid of the old and embrace the not so new, but new to you. I had a lovely time and it's always fun meeting other bloggers in the area. Thanks again to Katy Rose of ModlyChic for putting this event together.

I suppose this is as close as my face will ever get to Drew Brees. Good enough!
Besides Piper and I, here are some other lovely bloggers that attended.

Keep on changing

Please excuse my absence. It's been completely unintentional, I just have a few factors going against me at the moment. I no longer have internet at home so I have to go out to make posts, I go to work super early and by the time I get home its dark, I now have a lovely new camera with no tripod and no one to take my picture (not like I really had someone before, but setting up a pricey camera is a lot more terrifying then setting up your phone. If the phone falls, your fine. If the camera falls...well thats just not an option).

This last week I went for a walk around my block. Its amazing how the seasons can make an area look completely different.

As I said above, I'm slightly bound to my little 1 bedroom apartment to shoot outfit shots at the moment.   I am always trying to use different areas so things don't seem too redundant, this time I chose my bathtub. It's a beautiful vintage clawfoot soaker, the best kind of tub to have after a long run! This outfit was also a bit weird for me. I am mixing grays- which I don't think I've ever done. It's really just my tights and my shirt, but I think they blend pretty well...what do you think??
