I finally took the plunge last Saturday and dyed my hair red. The first thing I noticed- was the word RED. It has over a million interpretations/ variations. Apparently I got it wrong the first 2 times. I had my hair processed once, and then "brightened" and ended with this color. My hair is more "red" then these actual pictures lead on. I really want more of a blonder orange. I am hoping the red will fade a bit to a lighter orange, and if not, its back to the salon.
Regardless, the change was a bigger deal then I expected. It's such a bizarre thing to try and get dressed when your hair all of a sudden matches nothing you own. I am tempted to throw out everything and start over with a cream based pallet. After realizing that that was dumb I decided not to buy (or throw out/give away) anything until I get this color down. I'm just impatient, like a lot of other girls, because my hair is a security blanket. It's also really weird to look in the mirror and consistently do a double take. I woke up Sunday morning, completely forgetting what I'd done and literally gave myself a shock!
I also wanted to take a second to gush about this new Swedish photographer I found:
Annette Pehrsson. Please, please, please check her out. I can't get enough! Her photos are so dreamy they make me want to take a permanent vacation there.
