I heart

It's just finally getting warm here in Chicago, but this video and this band makes me wish it was Winter again.

I love the lighting at the end as well. When I finally move into my loft space with exposed brick ( I know, I know...one day) I hope to play with some really awesome lighting elements, like these:

For now, however I will be happy with an organized closet. I've only have 2 in my apartment and just realized recently they need a good cleanin'. I started work on them yesterday and hope to be done today, with some pretty sweet before and after pictures. Fingers crossed!!

Andersonville

Jon and I had the day off today, so instead of sitting in our squelching apartments, we decided to get brunch and explore Andersonville. Andersonville already has a special place in my heart because that's where my favorite Village Discount is located.

We decided to eat at "A Taste of Heaven". I wouldn't say the food was heavenly, but not bad.

While we were eating, Jon got a call from his mom, with a great surprise...

The very first picture of his new niece/nephew. Little baby Butts! After brunch, we decided to go exploring. The neighborhood is pretty peaceful.

But then we came across this crazy house that, as pretty as it was, looked a little out of place.

Next we headed to the Brown Elephant, another great thrift/ second hand store in the area. It use to be an old theater, so I am told.

Jon found some great reading material.

Back outside we ran into the puppet guy! He has a little hand puppet show attached to his bike. I never know whether to be freaked out by it or amused.

Jon scored a long board for $20 at Brown elephant, while I got some small vintage frames. Here he is with it, such a natural!

Iron and Wine

On Monday Iron and Wine performed in Millennium park as part of Music Monday's. I went to a few concerts the first summer I moved here, but I haven't been back since. I find that pretty ridiculous, since the concerts are free. Iron and Wine were OK, but I really enjoyed the opening band "Head and the Heart". Jon had the day off so he made us a little picnic and got there early to save us a spot.

Yummy food made of yummy things!

This was some sort of cheese sandwich with apples on a pretzel bun. Yum! I think all other bread should be banned and people should only be allow to make sandwiches with pretzel buns from now on!

By the end of the night we were both pretty sweaty and tired...yet Jon still manages to look dashing! How does he do it???

Kickball!

On Sunday it was in the high 80's low 90's, great weather to bring back our favorite outdoor sport, KICKBALL. We've played every summer since we moved up here, about 4 years ago. It's great exercise and a great way to act like a kid again. This Sunday was pretty packed. We had about 25 people show up, which I believe set a new kickball record.

After kickball I got all dolled up to eat dinner and ride bikes with my honey. I even got him to take pictures of me this time! Thanks Jon, I'll make a photographer out of you yet!
