Working on love

As a child I never had an opinion about anything. I barely talked and let my two older sisters make the decisions. I blame this on the fact that I was painfully shy. It's taken me a long time to figure out what I like, who I am, and get over the urge to run and hide behind the door. I find that blogging helps me be a bit more decisive. The way taking a photo of what your wearing gives you a better idea of how something looks on you, then just looking in the mirror.

I take all my pictures on my phone. I don't have a fancy dancey camera, though I wish I did. I'm always jealous when I find a blog with pictures that look a little retro and a little antique. I'm not jealous anymore!

I found this new app for Droid called Vignette. I love the editing options on it!

Happy FFBF: Round II

1. As a someone who writes/blogs about fashion, have you placed yourself into some sort of blogging category?

I think I have placed myself in the fashion blogger category. Mainly because those are the blogs that got me into blogging.

2. What keeps you from or encourages you to label yourself as a certain kind of blogger?

Promoting  myself keeps me thinking about categories. I don't feel pressure to be  labeled that way forever, because I know my blog will evolve and grow as  I do the same. It's just nice to have a point of reference. When you  get lost in your rambles, it's good to have something to refocus on.

3. When picking blogs to read and follow are you drawn to ones that indicate a certain group or way of thinking/being?

I really enjoy people who blog about clothing, and creativity. I love people who DIY. It's a great way to find inspiration!

4. Do you think there are benefits in labeling yourself or others?

I  think it is helpful when someone is looking for specific things they  want to read in a blog. I think, you save the reader time by making the  intentions of your blog clear. 

5. Agree or Disagree - We're all just people; we don't need all the labels.

Elizabeth and The Catapult

I first discovered this band when I moved to Chicago, and they are just starting to get some good exposure. The video below only shows 2 of the 3 members ( the drummer is missing), but this is my favorite song of theirs.

Not only does Elizabeth have the smoothest voice out there (she is a dead match for Karen Carpenter if you ask me) but she's got awesome style too!

4th of July
