Photo a Day in May

For some reason signing up for a photo/outfit/ any challenge keeps me on track with my blog. In May I'll be participating in the Photo a Day Challenge- via instagram. I'm really glad they finally came out with it for droid. Now more than ever its more convenient to take great photos. Here are a couple shots of the cast of one of the shows I'm currently in. It's called Daughters of Necessity- based off the Bruce Springsteen song "Open All Night".  If you're really into the Boss I recommend that you come see this show. It's a night of 10, 10 minute plays called "Deliver Us From Nowhere" based off his album Nebraska. You can read more about it here. Have a great week!

Envy

Anyone else out there not really feeling the trend of the great Neon 80's comeback? I've never really been into trends, but this one makes me hate the word. I'm not a fan of color, but sometimes feel the need to add to my wardrobe in sweet warm ways besides the normal neutral tones. In browsing today I spotted the first picture and instantly fell. The organization, the vintage tools, the GREEN. Oh how I am so in love with this green. Good thing red heads look good in green! = )

What I Want: For the Summer

Can't wait to add all these to my closet...I wish- but I did purchase the sweet little hat up top. I've never been a hat person because my ears tend to stick out (thanks Grandpa!), but since these little hats sit up top of your head, I have nothing to fear. I hope to start collecting more soon.

Is there anything you have got to get your hands on for summer? Or a collection your hoping to expand?

Red-headed Braveheart

I finally took the plunge last Saturday and dyed my hair red. The first thing I noticed- was the word RED. It has over a million interpretations/ variations. Apparently I got it wrong the first 2 times. I had my hair processed once, and then "brightened" and ended with this color. My hair is more "red" then these actual pictures lead on. I really want more of a blonder orange. I am hoping the red will fade a bit to a lighter orange, and if not, its back to the salon.

Regardless, the change was a bigger deal then I expected. It's such a bizarre thing to try and get dressed when your hair all of a sudden matches nothing you own. I am tempted to throw out everything and start over with a cream based pallet. After realizing that that was dumb I decided not to buy (or throw out/give away) anything until I get this color down. I'm just impatient, like a lot of other girls, because my hair is a security blanket. It's also really weird to look in the mirror and consistently do a double take. I woke up Sunday morning, completely forgetting what I'd done and literally gave myself a shock!

I also wanted to take a second to gush about this new Swedish photographer I found: Annette Pehrsson. Please, please, please check her out. I can't get enough! Her photos are so dreamy they  make me want to take a permanent vacation there.

I'm back!!

So sorry for the long absence! I was in New York 2 weeks ago and spent this week catching up- well trying to get back into the groove of things. I promise lots of lovely NY photos soon... as soon as I figure out how to make more room on iPhoto. Apparently-and I don't know how this happens-it's full. Anyone have any suggestions besides backing things up on a disc and deleting?

Yesterday I had about 20 minutes before my rehearsal, so I headed over to my favorite VD (which was right by our rehearsal space). These are the lovely new additions I found. I am always on the look out for white blouses with interesting collars. It's the old lady in me. I just want to wear lace and frills all the time now. The sandals are perfect for Spring- if it warms up again...soon I hope! VD always has really interesting china sets. I've toyed with the idea of using them to hold things, but never bought them. I suppose I was having a really girly day yesterday because I picked up these 2. I also think I want to get into drinking tea more. Perhaps have a fancy lady tea hour? Anyways, these are my first two- which I love! (Annnnnd they were only $0.90 each!)

Last update- speaking in real time- I'm dying my hair auburn today (not exactly sure of the proper word for the color since I've heard red, copper, auburn). I'm excited to go lighter, but I've never really changed my hair color so this could end in tragedy... I hope not!

Have a great weekend...hair photos to follow soon!
